The club was established in 1966 as Al Ahli Club. Through the years the club went with several merges. In 1974 Al Ahli merged with Al Falah as Al Emirates club. In 1984 was the last merger when Al Emirates and Abu Dhabi club merged as Al Wahda club.

Al Nahyan Stadium
Al Nahyan stadium has a history no one can
ignore, since its humble beginnings to reaching the biggest clubs in the
world for its content of installations, facilities and latest equipment and
the extent of the preparations to organize the international tournaments and
provide better services to sports teams and the media and the press. Moreover,
the club has gone through several mergers, the stadium was also going through
such stages of alterations, constructions, starting with the establishment of
Emirates stadium in mid-seventies, the playground was sand without strips, and
then the construction of two runways, next to the courts. Then a massive
operation began to create a worthy stadium named Al Nayan, after the famous
merger in the mid-eighties. The current stadium was openedin 1995 by His Highness Shiekh Khlifa bin
Zayed the president of United Arab Emirates.
Ismail Matar is one of the best players in the
history of the UAE and the legend of Al Wahda club. Ismail Matar has achieved
most of achievements with Al Wahda and was distinguished in all the
achievements with UAE football team. In addition to that, Ismail Matar is the
historical scorer for Al Wahda club. Unfortunately, we didn't have the chance to do an interview with him.
